Smoking Will Be Banned While Driving…
Recent press releases forewarn that smokers will be banned from smoking while driving in the UK from 1 October 2015 when children are in the car as passengers. Reasons cited were that a third of people in a survey stated that smoking was one of their biggest distractions while driving, with research finding that smoking behind the wheel increases the risk of accident by 150%. Furthermore, the effects of children passively smoking while in the car has been called to be reduced.
The fine for smoking while driving will be £50. The vote for the law was passed by an MP vote of 342 for and only 74 against.
